Kazakhstan has announced the creation of an experimental zone called CryptoCity, where the use of cryptocurrencies for purchases, payment for services, and other civil transactions will be permitted. This initiative was presented by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at an international conference, emphasizing that the project will be part of the country’s broader digital strategy.

The CryptoCity initiative will be complemented by large-scale investments in infrastructure. Among the important innovations, the launch of the most powerful supercomputer in Central Asia, which has already been delivered to the country, is anticipated.

The President emphasized that Kazakhstan aims to become an Eurasian academic and innovative IT hub. The republic plans to open branches of foreign universities and establish strategic cooperation in the fields of R&D and artificial intelligence.
