“The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Treasury has identified five entities and one individual in Iran for providing support to key institutions that manage and control Iran’s nuclear program,” the statement said.
It was noted that the organizations listed in the sanctions are involved in the procurement and production of critical technologies for Iran’s nuclear program. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessen emphasized that the reckless pursuit of nuclear weapons by the Iranian regime remains a serious threat to the United States, regional stability, and global security.
“The Treasury will continue to use available tools and authorities to disrupt Iran’s attempts to advance its nuclear program and engage in broader destabilizing activities,” Bessen said.
It is also worth noting that US President Donald Trump, after meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, announced plans to hold direct negotiations with Iran regarding its nuclear program at the end of this week.
