IMF Mission Begins Review of Lending Program in Ukraine

The International Monetary Fund mission has started its work in Kyiv, meeting with government representatives and key partners as part of the first review of the extended funding program.

Main Objectives of the IMF Mission

As reported by the IMF’s permanent representative in Ukraine, Priscilla Toffano, the delegation is led by Gavin Gray. The focus of the current negotiations is on discussing the country’s macroeconomic policy and implementing important structural reforms, which are a condition for further cooperation with the IMF.

Negotiations on Reforms and Policy

IMF experts, together with Ukrainian officials, are analyzing achievements and plans for implementing reforms related to economic stabilization, fiscal and monetary policy, as well as strengthening the financial system. The outcomes of this mission are expected to be decisive for the future stage of Ukraine’s cooperation with the fund.
