Scheme to Evade Customs Control
During the investigative actions, it was established that the head of one of the companies organized the movement of a container with household goods from China, concealing them from customs control. To carry out the illegal import, forged documents were used, containing false information regarding the amount of customs duties and other data necessary for customs procedures. The goods were imported based on a contract with a foreign company.
Value of the Smuggled Goods and Further Actions
During a search at the Kyiv customs post “Vishneve,” detectives from the Bureau of Economic Security discovered a container with household goods that had been imported in violation of customs legislation.
“According to the Bureau of Economic Security, the estimated value of the smuggled items exceeds 7.5 million UAH.”
As part of the pre-trial investigation, the director of the company has been notified of suspicion regarding this illegal activity. Currently, the indictment along with a plea agreement has already been sent to court for consideration of the case on its merits.
