Chinese President Xi Jinping announced Beijing’s intention to enhance investment cooperation with the Russian Federation. The leader of the PRC emphasized that despite the “unstable” international situation, bilateral relations between the countries are developing dynamically and reaching a new level.

Deepening Economic Ties
During a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in Beijing, Xi Jinping stressed the strategic nature of the partnership between the two countries. According to him, the preservation, strengthening, and further development of China-Russia relations is a conscious choice of both sides and an important prerequisite for stability and growth.
“China-Russia relations continue to develop towards a higher level and higher quality, steadily advancing forward despite the unstable external environment. The protection, strengthening, and development of China-Russia relations is a strategic choice for both sides.”
Among the priority areas for further cooperation, Xi Jinping highlighted energy, agriculture, aerospace, the digital economy, and environmentally friendly development. He emphasized the need to create new drivers of economic growth in these areas.
Russia’s Position and Joint Agreements
For his part, Mikhail Mishustin noted the importance of continuing efforts to create a favorable investment climate and support joint projects between the two countries. Following the negotiations, the parties issued a joint communiqué confirming their intention to deepen cooperation in all key areas and jointly respond to external challenges.
Furthermore, Russia reaffirmed its commitment to the “One China” policy and expressed disagreement with the ideas of Taiwan’s independence.
