Interim Results of Grain and Oilseed Collection

The collection indicators for the main crops indicate high results for this year’s campaign. In particular, 22,960.2 thousand tons of wheat have already been harvested from an area of 5,051.6 thousand hectares, 5,419.1 thousand tons of barley (1,360.9 thousand hectares), and 672.5 thousand tons of peas (275.1 thousand hectares). The greatest progress is observed in corn harvesting — farmers have collected 22,486.2 thousand tons from an area of 3,309.7 thousand hectares, which constitutes 75% of all sown areas for this crop.

This season, 17,079.3 thousand tons of oilseeds have already been harvested. The sunflower harvest has been completed on 93% of the sown areas, soybeans on 97%, and the collection of rapeseed has been fully completed. Meanwhile, 10,274.1 thousand tons of sugar beets have been harvested, which is 97% of the area of 192.2 thousand hectares.

“Ukrainian farmers have been completing the harvest for the fourth consecutive year amid a full-scale war and continue to demonstrate extraordinary resilience and good results. A total of up to 60 million tons of grains and up to 20 million tons of oilseeds are expected,” emphasized the Deputy Head of the Ministry, Taras Vysotsky.

According to Taras Vysotsky, about two-thirds of the harvest is planned for export.

Completion of Winter Crop Sowing

As reported by the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture, the sowing campaign for winter crops is nearly complete. Ukrainian farmers have sown 6,429.9 thousand hectares for next year’s harvest. Of this area, wheat occupies 4,692.8 thousand hectares, barley — 586.1 thousand hectares, rye — 66.3 thousand hectares, and rapeseed — 1,084.7 thousand hectares.

The ministry noted that the structure of sown areas remains stable compared to the previous season, with a primary focus on winter wheat, which is crucial for the country’s food security. Thus, a strong foundation for the 2026 harvest has already been established.
