In upcoming updates to the Google Play Store for Android, a new feature is expected to be implemented that will inform users about the removal of apps installed on their devices. Previously, the store only notified users about serious security threats related to applications but did not warn in cases where an app was removed by the developer or due to minor policy violations.

How the notification about removed apps will work
According to information found in version 51.4.19 of Google Play, new lines of code indicate the preparation of this feature. The store will be able to send notifications that a certain app is no longer available for download and will not receive updates in the future. Previously, such notifications were not sent: if a user installed an app that later disappeared from the store, they could only find out about it accidentally – for example, by trying to install it again or reading the news.
“Currently, the store only notifies users about serious security threats that an app may pose, but does not inform them that it has been removed by the developer.”
The purpose of the innovation and possible changes
The main goal of the new feature is to increase users’ awareness of the status of installed applications. If an app is removed – either at Google’s initiative due to policy or by the developer themselves – the user will receive a corresponding notification. Depending on the number of removed apps, the texts of the notifications will vary.
Currently, Google Play only warns in cases of app blocking for serious security violations. This innovation will help avoid situations where users are unaware of the lack of further updates for their apps, thus enhancing the security and usability of the platform.
Additionally, Google continues to develop its services: recently, advertisements have started appearing in response to search queries, which were first integrated directly into the results generated by artificial intelligence.
