Gas Prices in Ukraine Decrease: Details and Forecasts

In Ukraine, networks of gas stations (GS) have lowered prices for A-95 gasoline. As of April 9, the average price of gasoline is 55.72 UAH/l, which is 8 kopecks less than the day before. According to the consulting group “A-95”, fuel prices have decreased by 10 kopecks since the beginning of the week.

Large gas station networks are selling gasoline at prices ranging from 49.95 to 58.99 UAH/l. The highest rates have been set by companies WOG and OKKO, where the price of gasoline reaches 58.99 UAH/l. Significant prices for gasoline are also offered by Rur Group – 57.99 UAH/l, Shell – 57.95 UAH/l, and SOCAR – 57.66 UAH/l. The lowest prices are recorded at the gas station Avantazh 7, where gasoline costs 49.95 UAH/l, and at RLS – 50.4 UAH/l.

Forecasts for Further Price Reductions

Experts predict that after the collapse of oil prices, Ukrainian wholesale fuel prices will also begin to decrease. It is expected that price reductions at gas stations may not start for at least two weeks. The potential for reduction could amount to 5-6 UAH/l.

At the same time, it is noted that the process of price reduction may begin as early as this week, depending on the behavior of market participants in the competition for customers. Forecasts suggest that the decrease could range from 0.5 to 1 UAH/l.

However, there is a possibility that the decrease in gasoline prices will be less significant than expected due to a potential rise in the euro. Since fuel excise taxes in Ukraine are calculated in euros, this could affect the cost of fuel in hryvnias.
