A Float Glass Factory Will Be Built in Bulgaria for the Reconstruction of Ukraine

A construction project for one of the largest float glass manufacturing plants in Europe is starting in Bulgaria. The project is being implemented jointly by the Bulgarian company Technoglass Group and the German engineering consortium HORN Glass Industries AG. Preliminary estimates suggest that the investment in the factory will amount to around 300 million euros.

Production Capacity and Location

The planned factory will be capable of producing up to 800 tons of glass per day. The design phase is currently being completed, with production set to launch by the end of 2027. The facility will be located in the city of Burgas, chosen for its developed logistics infrastructure: Burgas has a railway hub, a large seaport, and an international airport, which will facilitate efficient transportation of products.

Main Markets and the Role of Ukraine

A significant portion of the manufactured float glass will be exported. Agreements have already been reached with companies from several countries, including the United Arab Emirates and Nigeria. However, the key market for the new factory will be Ukraine, which will receive over 30 million square meters of glass annually. Preliminary agreements have already been signed with Ukrainian construction and trading companies, as well as manufacturers of plastic windows.
