A Dry Port is Planned to Be Built in the Volyn Region Near the Polish Border

The Ternopil company “Weststar Group” has announced its intention to build a modern “dry port” in Volyn. The new logistics hub is set to be located near the railway branch on land totaling nearly 35.6 hectares, with access tracks to be laid. “Weststar Group” is part of the group of companies “Western Container Terminal,” which specializes in providing logistics services.

Main Project Parameters

The project involves the development of an area of 14 hectares, which amounts to 142,148 square meters. It is expected that the new terminal’s capacity will reach 10,000 twenty-foot containers per year. Thanks to the advantageous location of the facility near the railway, this will significantly optimize logistics flows in the region.

Location and Competitive Environment

The future “dry port” will be located approximately 25 kilometers from the international border crossing point “Yahodin” on the border with Poland. At the same time, another terminal is located about 10 kilometers away, the construction of which was started in 2023 by the company “Interkoleso.” However, work on this site is currently halted, as the Antimonopoly Committee found that “Interkoleso” obtained the land for the port in violation of current legislation.

“Weststar Group” belongs to the Ternopil group of companies “Western Container Terminal,” which provides logistics services.
