Ukraine has the potential to produce between 7 and 8 million drones annually if the defense industry receives adequate funding and effective planning. This was stated by the Executive Director of the Ukrainian Arms Manufacturers Association, Ihor Fedirko. According to him, achieving such a production level is possible within a relatively short timeframe.

Dependence on Imports and Development of Domestic Technologies
Despite the growth in production capacity, Ukraine still largely relies on imported components for drone manufacturing, primarily from China. Experts emphasize the need to develop domestic technologies and production to reduce dependence on foreign parts. Fedirko notes that the country is already capable of creating fully “Ukrainian” drones, and the prices for domestic components are gradually decreasing.
“With sufficient funding for the Ukrainian defense industry, the country will be able to produce 7 million drones per year, and with proper planning, this figure could rise to over 8 million units,” said Ihor Fedirko, Executive Director of the Ukrainian Arms Manufacturers Association.
Increase in Production Volumes and Export Prospects
According to Fedirko’s estimates, by 2025, Ukraine’s defense industry will reach weapon production volumes of approximately 35 billion dollars, and by 2026, this figure could increase to 50 billion dollars. It is also expected that an announcement regarding the opening of arms exports will be made soon, and Ukrainian enterprises may sign their first foreign contracts as early as mid-next year.
The expert predicts that after the end of the full-scale war, only those Ukrainian companies that unite their efforts and offer comprehensive solutions for the military sector will remain in the international defense technology market.
