Donald Trump’s Approval Rating Hits Record Low Among Voters in August

Support for U.S. President Donald Trump among voters continues to decline: according to the latest August poll from Quinnipiac University, his approval rating has fallen to 37%, the lowest point of his entire second term in office. Meanwhile, the level of dissatisfaction with his performance has reached a record 55%.

Rating Changes Over the Year

Since the beginning of his second presidential term in January, Trump’s support has decreased from 46% to 37%, while the share of those who disapprove of his work has risen from 43% to 55%. This is the worst positive-to-negative rating ratio for a sitting president since January 2021. The previous low was recorded in June, when the approval rating was 38% and dissatisfaction was at 54%.

37% of registered voters approved of the U.S. president’s performance, while 55% expressed dissatisfaction. Another 7% of respondents were undecided.

In the second half of June, Trump’s support briefly rose to 41%, and in July it remained at 40%. However, the August poll recorded a deepening of negative ratings, with this month’s negative rating standing at minus 18 points – the worst result since the beginning of his second term.

Voter Opinions Across Political Lines

Among Republican supporters, 84% of respondents approve of Donald Trump’s performance, while 9% expressed disapproval, and another 7% were undecided. In comparison, in July, the support level among Republicans was higher, reaching 90%.

Among Democrats, there is almost unanimous opposition: 98% of respondents disapprove of the president’s actions, up from 95% last month. Independent voters are divided in their assessments: 31% support Trump’s policies, 58% oppose them, and another 11% are undecided.

Overall, according to the results of the August survey, the popularity of the U.S. president continues to show a downward trend, and the level of dissatisfaction with his performance is setting new records.
