Dollar and Euro Exchange Rate Forecast in Ukraine for the Week: Analysis and Current Calculations

The exchange rates of the dollar and euro in Ukraine during the week from August 11 to August 17 are expected to remain relatively stable, although situational fluctuations may occur for the euro. This was reported by Taras Lesovyi, the director of the financial markets and investment activities department at Globus Bank.

Dollar: Expected Range and Calculations in Hryvnia

The dollar exchange rate on the interbank market is expected to be within the range of 41.6–42 hryvnias per dollar. In the cash market, the forecasted range is 41.65–42.2 hryvnias per dollar. This means that 100 dollars can be exchanged for an amount ranging from 4165 to 4220 hryvnias, while 1000 dollars will amount to 41650–42200 hryvnias. For those interested in current exchange calculations, 500 dollars will equal 20825–21100 hryvnias, and 2000 dollars will be 83300–84400 hryvnias.

Euro: Trends and Estimated Value

Regarding the euro, the expert predicts that the exchange rate will remain within 48–49 hryvnias on the interbank market, and from 48 to 49.5 hryvnias in the cash market. Thus, 100 euros will cost 4800–4950 hryvnias, and 1000 euros will range from 48000 to 49500 hryvnias.

The exchange rate situation remains stable, with no expected sharp changes during the specified period.

It is also worth noting the updates to the currency policy in Ukraine. The National Bank of Ukraine has implemented another package of currency restriction easing since August 6, considering the requests of businesses. NBU Chairman Andriy Pyshny emphasized that the main direction of the new liberalization is the repatriation of dividends, and the period during which companies can transfer dividends has been extended from January 1, 2024, to January 1, 2023.
