Details of the Attack on the Frigate and Drilling Rig

The frigate ‘Admiral Grigorovich’ is the first military ship of the ‘Burevestnik’ project of the Russian Federation Navy. The vessel is equipped with ‘Kalibr’ cruise missiles (8 missiles) and the ‘Shchit-1’ air defense missile system (24 missiles). During the operation, air defense missile launches were conducted from the frigate, but this did not prevent Ukrainian forces from successfully hitting the target.

‘Admiral Grigorovich’ is the first military frigate of the ‘Burevestnik’ project of the RF Navy, carrying ‘Kalibr’ cruise missiles (8 missiles) and the air defense system ‘Shchit-1′ (24 missiles). Air defense missile launches were carried out directly from the frigate during the approach to the target, which did not prevent us from pecking at the floating scab,’ Brovdi wrote on his Telegram channel.

The operation was conducted under the coordination of the Security Service of Ukraine. The extent of damage to the ship and the drilling rig is currently being assessed by intelligence.

According to Brovdi, the drilling rig ‘Sivash’ was attacked by the forces of the 413th Separate ‘Raid’ Regiment in conjunction with the Naval Forces units responsible for deep strikes. No additional details regarding this operation are provided.

Russia’s Reaction and Other Consequences of the Attacks

Official representatives of the Russian Federation’s authorities and military have not yet commented on the information regarding the damage to the frigate and drilling rig. Meanwhile, earlier, the governor of Krasnodar Krai, Veniamin Kondratiev, reported drone attacks in the region, as well as eight injured individuals and damaged houses in Novorossiysk. It was reported that debris from the drones was found in the territory of several enterprises, including, according to the ASTRA Telegram channel, the oil terminal ‘Sheskharis’ — one of Russia’s largest strategic facilities.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of the morning of April 6, the Russian Federation has lost 33 ships and boats since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Since the escalation of hostilities, various facilities on the territory of the Russian Federation have repeatedly become targets of air strikes. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirms that the Ukrainian Defense Forces systematically carry out a range of measures aimed at reducing the combat potential of the Russian occupation forces and forcing the RF to cease aggression against Ukraine.
