The Ivano-Frankivsk City Court found a man guilty of facilitating the illegal acquisition of property belonging to the Ukrainian State Construction Corporation “Ukrbud.” The convicted individual was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months of imprisonment with the confiscation of all his property.

Scheme of Illegal Acquisition of Property
According to the investigation materials, the man assisted in the unlawful acquisition of Ukrbud’s assets by using forged documents. The criminal group consisted of more than 15 individuals, including notaries, officials from other enterprises, and other participants who acted in collusion. Some of the suspects are currently outside Ukraine and have been declared wanted. Separate criminal proceedings are ongoing against other individuals involved.
The court is also reviewing cases against eight other defendants in the mentioned crimes.
“This concerns the assets and real estate of enterprises that were part of the Ukrainian State Construction Corporation (Ukrbud) group, including office premises in the central part of Kyiv. The total amount of damages exceeds 119 million hryvnias.”
Details of the Investigation and Verdict
In August 2025, the convicted individual was extradited to Ukraine from the Federal Republic of Germany. After his arrest, a preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen for him. In November of the same year, the State Bureau of Investigations completed the pre-trial investigation, after which the indictment was submitted to the court.
The court found the defendant guilty of aiding in the illegal acquisition of property of the enterprise under Part 5 of Article 27, Part 3 of Article 206-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and imposed a sentence in accordance with Article 69 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
In addition to the main punishment, the convicted individual is also prohibited from holding positions related to organizational, administrative, and economic functions for a period of 2 years. During the court proceedings, the defendant transferred approximately 400,000 hryvnias to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
