The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, reported that following the imposition of trade tariffs by U.S. President Donald Trump, which significantly impacted global markets, countries are actively seeking cooperation with the European Union. She noted that in recent weeks she has met with leaders from Iceland, New Zealand, Malaysia, Canada, the Philippines, India, and the United Arab Emirates, who are looking for “strong, reliable partners.”

A recent poll showed that 44% of Canadians support the country’s accession to the European Union, while 34% are opposed.
