BaDM invests $100 million in large-scale warehouse construction in Ukraine

One of Ukraine’s leading pharmaceutical distribution companies, BaDM, has announced the launch of a large investment program amounting to $100 million, aimed at the construction and equipping of five new warehouse complexes. Thanks to this initiative, the company plans to double its warehouse capacity to 120,000 square meters by 2027.

Expansion of warehouse resources in the regions

According to the company’s plans, a new distribution center near Kyiv, covering an area of about 25,000 square meters, will be put into operation as early as next summer. The construction of this facility is already in its final stages. In addition to the Kyiv region, new BaDM warehouses will appear in Poltava, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Odesa. In particular, the completion of the warehouses in Poltava and Vinnytsia is scheduled for 2026, while those in Ivano-Frankivsk and Odesa are set for 2027. The projects are being financed through both the company’s own funds and with the support of credit resources.

Growing demand for pharmaceutical warehouses

In the Ukrainian market, pharmaceutical companies currently occupy 10-15% of all warehouse space, and the demand for specialized facilities for storing medicines remains consistently high. At the same time, the market is characterized by significant competition among distributors.

Recently, due to a Russian attack, the central warehouse of the company “Optima-Pharm” was completely destroyed, with losses exceeding $100 million. BaDM also suffered losses — two of its warehouses in Irpin and Poltava, with a total area of 13,000 square meters, were destroyed.

“The losses from the loss of goods were estimated at approximately ₴1.5 billion.”

Despite these challenges, the company continues to invest in infrastructure development and ensure the continuous supply of medications throughout the country.
