Flagship Programs for Housing Modernization
The Energy Efficiency Fund, which operates with financial support from the EU (€104 million) and Germany through the IFC trust fund, is currently implementing two key programs for homeowners’ associations of apartment buildings. The first program, VidnovyDIM, provides grants and technical support for the restoration of residential buildings damaged due to hostilities. The second, EnergoDIM, offers financing for comprehensive thermal modernization of buildings. Since the fund’s inception, 1,500 projects have been implemented, allowing for annual energy savings equivalent to the consumption of a city like Chernivtsi.
“This contribution enhances support for energy independence and the ‘green’ recovery of Ukraine.”
Germany — Leading Donor of Energy Recovery
In addition to supporting the Energy Efficiency Fund, Germany has provided Ukraine with nearly €385 million through the Energy Support Fund, accounting for over a third of all contributions to the fund. Specifically, thanks to financial assistance from Germany amounting to over €127 million, six gas turbine units with a total capacity of 156 MW have been purchased. The units have already been installed at the facilities of the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine, contributing to the stability of the country’s energy sector.
