Key Topics of the Meeting: Security, Energy, and Infrastructure

On the agenda of the intergovernmental dialogue is the development of strategic agreements in the areas of security, energy, and infrastructure. Zelensky emphasized the importance of mutually strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and Saudi Arabia, noting the constructive nature of the partnership.

“Today we are developing agreements with Saudi Arabia in the fields of security, energy, and infrastructure. It is important that the strengthening is mutual. I value the substantive cooperation between our countries.”

Defense Agreement and Cooperation in Countering Drones

It is worth noting that on March 26, Zelensky had already visited Saudi Arabia, where a defense cooperation agreement was signed following the talks between the two countries. The parties paid special attention to the implementation of the so-called Drone Deal, which involves ten-year agreements with three key states in the region – the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.

Additionally, Ukrainian specialists in countering drones are already working in the Middle East, including in Saudi Arabia. This contributes to deepening military-technical cooperation and enhancing security in the region.
