Ukrzaliznytsia Launches Temporary Train Kyiv – Lviv for the Weekend

Ukrzaliznytsia has announced the launch of a new temporary train on the Kyiv – Lviv route, which will start operating from June 21. The new train, numbered 292/291, will connect the capital with one of Ukraine’s largest tourist centers during a period of increased demand for transportation.

Schedule and Features of the New Train

The first departure of the new train is scheduled for June 21. The train will operate only during the upcoming weekends. The rolling stock consists of air-conditioned compartment cars, but the seating is arranged in a sitting format. Odd-numbered seats are located by the window, while even-numbered seats are next to the compartment doors.

“This weekend, Ukrzaliznytsia will launch additional services between Kyiv and Lviv. Tickets are already available.”

Departure from Kyiv will be at 09:14, arriving in Lviv at 17:04. From Lviv, the train will depart at 13:15 and arrive in Kyiv at 20:37.

Ticket Prices and Purchase Methods

Tickets for the new train are now on sale. For the June 21 service, the price for a seat in first class is 716.72 hryvnias. For the June 22 service, the price for a first-class ticket is significantly higher at 11,785.39 hryvnias. Tickets can be purchased through the Ukrzaliznytsia app, on the carrier’s official website, and at train station ticket offices.

Temporary trains are launched during periods of increased passenger flow when regular services cannot fully meet travelers’ needs. This usually occurs during holidays, vacations, or mass leave periods.
