Ukrainian Forces Repel Over 230 Russian Attacks on the Front in a Day: Situation on Key Fronts

Over the past day, Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled more than 230 combat engagements with units of the Russian Federation army. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy continues to actively attempt to improve its positions and advance deeper into Ukrainian territory, but encounters strong resistance from defenders.

Enemy Activity on Key Fronts

In the South Slobozhansky direction, the Russian army made five attempts to storm the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Combat actions also took place in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Sloviansk, and Kramatorsk directions, where both sides suffered losses, but the front line remains under the control of Ukrainian troops.

In the Kostiantynivka direction, the highest intensity of combat actions was recorded: according to updated data, Russian troops launched 29 attacks in the areas of Pleshchiyivka, Yablunivka, Ivanopillia, as well as towards Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Sofiivka, Novopavlivka, Kucherovyi Yar, and Stepaniivka.

Situation in the Pokrovsk, Oleksandrivka, and Other Directions

“In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 51 assault actions by the aggressor towards the settlements of Bilytske, Nykonorivka, Rodynske, Shevchenko, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, Muravka, Molodetske, Novopidhorodne, Novopavlivka, Vasylivka, and Hryshyne,” the staff reports.

In addition, the Russians attacked Ukrainian positions 15 times in the Oleksandrivka direction and another 14 times in the Hulyaipole direction. In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian forces managed to repel six attempts by the enemy to advance. Four more assault actions were recorded in the Dnipro direction – towards the Antonivskyi Bridge, as well as the islands of Bilohrudyi and Kruhlyk.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, noted that with the change in weather conditions, the Russian army has intensified offensive actions along the entire front line, which stretches for 1,200 kilometers. According to him, in March, the hottest areas remained the Oleksandrivka, Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka, and Lyman directions.

At the same time, according to the head of communications of the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Airborne Forces, Volodymyr Polevyi, Russian troops are concentrating resources in the southern outskirts of Myrnohrad in Donetsk region, actively using residential buildings as cover from Ukrainian strikes.
