Ukraine has significantly improved its position in the global ranking of pig iron producers, taking 13th place among 40 countries based on the results of the first quarter of 2026.

Growth of Domestic Production
According to the association “Ukrmetallurgprom”, in January-March 2026, Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises produced 1.80 million tons of pig iron. This is 5.85% higher than the same indicator last year, indicating a gradual recovery of the industry and strengthening its position in the global market.

The increase in production volumes allowed Ukraine to surpass several other countries and secure a place in the second decade of global leaders in pig iron production.
