Ukrainian Experience in Fighting Drones Gains Global Significance

According to Zelensky, Ukraine aims to assist those states that support it in the fight for independence and security. The preparation of specific agreements already involves the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, military personnel, intelligence, the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ukraine positions itself as a reliable security donor, which opens up new economic prospects and development for Ukrainian industries. The Ukrainian experience could serve as a foundation for building global security.

“We are ready to help those who help us, who help Ukraine. (Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council) Rustem Umerov, together with our military, intelligence, the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will prepare specific agreements. Ukraine is a reliable security donor; this is not only our security perspective but also our economic one. Protection for Ukraine, cooperation with partners, development for Ukrainian industries. Everything that Ukrainians have learned for their defense can be a global foundation for security – a global foundation for a secure life,” said the head of state.

Ukrainian Drones for the Middle East and Cooperation Requirements

President Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is ready to supply Middle Eastern countries with drones and specialists in counter-drone defense. In exchange, Ukraine expects to receive scarce missiles for the PAC-2 and PAC-3 air defense systems. He also recalled that Kyiv had offered the USA cooperation in investing in drone production a year ago.

In October 2025, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov reported on negotiations with the United States regarding a drone agreement. By March 2026, Zelensky noted that Ukraine had received 11 official requests for the supply of drones capable of neutralizing attacks from enemy drones. Such requests came from neighboring countries of Iran, some European countries, and the USA.

The President emphasized that Ukraine is already negotiating assistance to Middle Eastern countries in defense against Iranian attacks, and Ukrainian experts will work directly on-site. It has been reported that the USA and one of the Gulf countries are interested in purchasing Ukrainian interceptor drones to destroy Iranian “Shaheds.” Zelensky also offered Middle Eastern countries a “quiet exchange” and technical support, expecting in return the supply of missiles for air defense systems.
