Opportunities for Export Expansion

Both sides focused on the prospects for increasing the export of Ukrainian agricultural products, including honey, sunflower oil, and sugar, to the markets of Japan, the European Union, the USA, and other countries. The issue of expanding access for Ukrainian poultry meat to the Japanese market was discussed separately. Ukrainian officials appealed to their Japanese counterparts to facilitate an increase in supplies of this product.

“Ukrainian officials appealed to their Japanese colleagues to expand access to the Japanese markets for Ukrainian products, particularly poultry meat. In response, the Japanese delegation noted the high potential for deepening cooperation. The parties will outline a joint roadmap for continuing collaboration.”

Furthermore, Ukraine and the European Union, within the framework of the updated trade agreement, agreed to explore additional measures aimed at supporting Ukrainian exporters in entering third-country markets. Such steps are expected to create new commercial opportunities for the national agricultural sector and enhance its contribution to ensuring global food security.
