Trump on the possibility of extending the ceasefire

Donald Trump stated that he does not rule out the possibility that the ceasefire could last more than three days. Furthermore, the American leader emphasized the importance of ending the war as soon as possible, noting the catastrophic consequences for humanity.

“Perhaps. It would be good. I would like it to stop. Russia and Ukraine are the worst thing that has happened since World War II in terms of human losses.”

Assessment of losses and Moscow’s reaction

In his speech, Trump also emphasized that, according to him, 25,000 soldiers die each month in the war between Russia and Ukraine. He called such losses “madness” and added that extending the ceasefire is quite possible.

On the same day, the Russian authorities agreed to a three-day ceasefire, as well as to an exchange of prisoners of war between the parties to the conflict.
