Sanctions against companies and individuals linked to the Russian Federation
The new restrictions particularly affect individuals connected to the Russian banking sector, including Yuri and Yegor Karasyov. Companies that are deemed strategically important to the Russian government by the British side have also been targeted. Among these are the Metallurg company and Orion Star Group.
Special attention in the list has been given to the British company Rosneft Marine, which is a structural part of the Russian Rosneft. The basis for the sanctions was the cooperation of this company with the Russian government, particularly in the energy sector.
“The British company Rosneft Marine, which is part of the Russian Rosneft, has also been sanctioned. The grounds for the sanctions were that the company cooperates with the Russian government, particularly in the energy sector.”
Additional restrictions on maritime transport
Furthermore, according to international media reports, the UK has imposed sanctions against 20 vessels, including oil tankers and ships specializing in maritime transportation and the supply of goods to Russia, including electronics.
It is worth noting that at the end of May, Sweden announced new rules to combat the so-called “shadow fleet” of Russia — a network of tankers used to circumvent international sanctions on the export of Russian oil.
