The President of Ukraine has instructed to explore options for raising teachers’ salaries, which became a topic of discussion during the conference “Education of New Ukraine.” Lisovyi clarified that to fulfill the relevant article of the education law, more than 300 billion hryvnias is needed; however, in wartime conditions, such an amount is unavailable.

“In the budget for 2025, we managed to find an additional 12 billion hryvnias, which will be used to fulfill the President’s directives,” the minister noted. These funds are planned to be used for payments of 1,000 hryvnias in the first half of the year and 2,000 hryvnias starting from September 1 of this year for each teacher.

Lisovyi also reported that there are several scenarios regarding salary increases: “We have several scenarios: regarding simplifying the salary structure, regarding using salary as a motivation tool for professional growth. The cheapest scenario starts with an additional 40 billion hryvnias in funding,” he emphasized, adding that the Ministry is working together with the government to find effective solutions.
