On April 26, accusations emerged on social media against the organizers of the popular music show ‘Karaoke on Maidan’ regarding alleged fraud and embezzlement during the filming of a new episode. The TET channel, which broadcasts the project, promptly responded to these claims, stating that there was an attempt to interfere with the filming process and deliberately disrupt the shoot.

In a statement published on the channel’s page on Threads, TET representatives emphasized that participation in the show is open and completely free for everyone who wishes to join. However, the project’s format allows for the option to voluntarily make a contribution — to donate and become a ‘Joker’, which gives a chance to automatically advance to the finals and compete for victory.
TET specifically highlighted that all funds raised during the show are donated to support the ‘Titan’ rehabilitation center, where Ukrainian soldiers undergo recovery. The channel’s administration also reported that information regarding the incident has been forwarded to law enforcement for further investigation.
“We want to emphasize separately: any attempts to hype or attract attention through disruption of filming or provocations are unacceptable. We advocate for respect, support, and a safe space for all participants. ‘Karaoke on Maidan’ is a people’s project about music and people who are in love with life,” TET stressed.

The scandal erupted after a social media user claimed that she attempted to perform on the show for charitable purposes. According to her, one of the ‘organizers’ of the show offered such an opportunity for $1000. The girl asserts that her team handed this amount to a crew member, but they were not allowed to perform.
