Fire at the Oil Base and Injuries
As a result of the drone attack in the industrial area of Fujairah, a large-scale fire broke out. According to official reports, UAE civil defense units promptly began extinguishing the fire and are working to contain the blaze. It is known that three Indian nationals sustained moderate injuries – all the injured have been hospitalized for necessary medical assistance.
“In the Emirates, a ‘difficult night’ was threatened to Iran due to the escalation of the situation for the first time since the truce with the USA. At this time, the country was repelling missile attacks, and a fire broke out in Fujairah following the drone strike.”
Defense and International Reaction
According to ministry reports, UAE air defense forces continue to repel missile and drone attacks, including ballistic and cruise missiles. Citizens have been urged to obtain information only from official sources and to adhere to safety regulations. Journalists are also reporting explosions over Dubai, which have caused concern among the population.
Separately, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) informed that a tanker was hit by projectiles approximately seven nautical miles north of Fujairah. The crew was unharmed, and no environmental damage has been recorded.
According to sources familiar with the situation, the Israeli Iron Dome air defense system, which is located in the UAE, may have been involved in intercepting Iranian missiles. At the beginning of the conflict with Iran, Israel reportedly secretly deployed this system. At least three missiles were successfully intercepted, but the exact number of destroyed targets has not been disclosed.
Recall that on May 4, Iranian military warned the USA against entering the Strait of Hormuz following a statement by US President Donald Trump about supporting vessels in the Persian Gulf that were affected by the war against Iran.
