Shmyhal and the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan discussed strengthening energy cooperation

The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, held a working meeting with the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Ali Asadov. During the negotiations, the parties emphasized the importance of expanding the strategic partnership between the countries, particularly in the energy sector.

Strengthening Cooperation and the Role of Azerbaijan

Denys Shmyhal highlighted that the cooperation between Ukraine and Azerbaijan is of a strategic nature, and the development of partnership relations contributes to strengthening regional security in Southeastern and Central Europe. He thanked the Azerbaijani government for supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for assisting in ensuring the country’s energy resilience during the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation.

International Energy Cooperation

In addition to negotiations with the Azerbaijani side, Denys Shmyhal also discussed cooperation within the Vertical Gas Corridor with the Minister of Energy of Moldova, Dorin Recean. One of the key topics was increasing the technical capacity of the route, which will enhance the energy security of Ukraine and its partners in the region.
