The mining company Ferrexpo has resumed production at the Public Joint Stock Company “Poltava Mining and Processing Plant” after a forced one-and-a-half-month shutdown. The temporary halt, which began on January 20, was caused by power supply disruptions; however, the enterprise has now returned to stable operations.

Restoration of Production and Exports
Currently, one production line for pellets is operating at the plant, with exports directed to countries in Eastern and Central Europe. Ferrexpo emphasizes that the resumption of production was made possible by the stabilization of prices for both Ukrainian and imported electricity. This has allowed the enterprise to return to full operation and restore the supply of iron ore products to international markets.
Impact of Attacks on Energy Infrastructure
The production stoppage was linked to widespread disruptions in energy supply caused by intense attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Thanks to the prompt and coordinated efforts of energy workers across the country, damaged networks were quickly restored, ensuring stability in electricity supply for industrial enterprises.
“With the arrival of spring in Ukraine, we have been able to resume our activities, production, and export of our high-quality iron ore,” the company stated.
Ferrexpo also expressed gratitude to everyone involved in the repair and restoration of the energy network, which enabled the plant to return to the production process and ensure the export of Ukrainian products to foreign markets.
