In Poland, a 23-year-old citizen of Ukraine was stopped by the police for significantly exceeding the speed limit on the S12/S17 highway from Lublin to Warsaw. The driver was operating a Mercedes that was traveling at nearly 200 km/h, while the speed limit in that area is 120 km/h.

Details of the violation and the driver’s explanation
Polish law enforcement noticed the vehicle that was overtaking other cars and significantly exceeding the permitted speed. After stopping the vehicle, it was revealed that the driver was a Ukrainian woman residing in Warsaw. During the check, the woman explained to the police that she was in a hurry to get a manicure at a beauty salon.
“During the check, she stated that she was in a hurry for an appointment at the beauty salon to get a manicure.”
For the speed violation, the driver received the maximum fine of 2500 zlotys, which is equivalent to approximately 30,264 hryvnias, as well as 15 penalty points.
Possible consequences for the offender
According to Polish law, if the woman violates the speed limit again within the next two years, her fine will be doubled to 5000 zlotys. Such strict penalties aim to prevent repeat traffic violations and enhance safety on Polish roads.
