Monobank tests electronic document management service monodoc: first details

Monobank has opened access to a new electronic document management service monodoc, which is currently operating in test mode at doc.mono.bank. There has been no official announcement from the bank regarding the launch, but the functionality of the service is already available to users.

This is reported by Finway

Main features and functions of monodoc

  • The service allows users to upload files, sign them, and send them to other users.
  • Several options are provided for signing documents: file key, Diia.Signature, or the bank’s own monoKEP key.
  • Users can add signers by name or email, generate public links to documents, rename files, or prepare them for printing.

Currently, the service is positioned as a simple starter product without complex usage scenarios. Information about the cost of use or business model is not yet available.

Signs of connection to monobank

Although there is no official confirmation of the service’s affiliation with monobank, several technical details indicate the bank’s involvement in its development:

  • Authorization in the service is done through a bank account.
  • Automatic emails are sent from the domain monobank.ua.
  • The patent office has recorded applications for the registration of trademarks monodoc, doc.mono.bank, and doc monobank, which indirectly confirms the connection to the bank.

“There is no official confirmation, but several technical details point to the bank. Access to the service is tied to a bank account, and automatic emails come from the domain monobank.ua. It is also worth noting the patent office: recently, applications for the registration of three trademarks — monodoc, doc.mono.bank, and doc monobank — have appeared there. The applicants are not publicly identified, but the coincidence speaks for itself.”

The place of the new service in the monobank ecosystem

For monobank, this is not the first experience in implementing digital signatures: the bank previously integrated Diia.Signature into its mobile application and created its own monoKEP key. However, all these functions were part of the banking product, and only now does monobank offer a separate service for working with documents that allows users to store, sign, and exchange files with multiple signers.
