Medical staff in frontline hospitals will receive additional payments until the end of 2026

The government has extended the program of additional funding for medical institutions providing specialized care in areas of active combat. The corresponding decision ensures the continuation of increased payments for doctors and medical personnel in frontline hospitals until December 31, 2026.

State support for medical institutions in combat zones

In the second half of this year, hospitals located near the front line will receive additional resources monthly to form a salary fund. This will allow for the retention of medical personnel working under constant risks and ensure uninterrupted medical assistance to the population.

“The government emphasizes that access to medical care in communities near the front is a matter of safety and survival for people.”

Increased funding and new support mechanisms

In addition to additional payments, the state is implementing other support mechanisms for the healthcare sector in frontline communities. In particular, primary healthcare facilities receive increased payments for patient declarations, and emergency medical services are provided with additional funding for effective operation.

Support for doctors and medical institutions in dangerous regions remains a priority of state policy. In May 2026, the National Health Service of Ukraine transferred over UAH 16.1 billion for medical services provided and medication reimbursements under the “Affordable Medicines” program. This indicates the stable functioning of the state medical financing system even in wartime conditions.
