A London court has delivered a guilty verdict in the case of 22-year-old Matvey Rumyantsev, the son of Russian entrepreneur Sergey Rumyantsev, finding him guilty of assaulting his girlfriend. The incident occurred in January 2025 at the victim’s apartment in the British capital.

According to court documents, the cause of Rumyantsev’s aggression was jealousy over his girlfriend’s communication with Barron Trump, the son of U.S. President Donald Trump. During the conflict, the woman was on a FaceTime video call with Barron, who witnessed the assault in real time. Trump Jr., while in the U.S., quickly contacted emergency services in the UK, allowing the police to respond swiftly and initiate an investigation.

The Court’s Verdict and Case Circumstances

As a result, the court found Rumyantsev guilty on several counts related to physical violence but acquitted him of more serious charges. Barron Trump did not personally attend the court hearings; however, his call to emergency services was included in the case materials as important evidence.
