Details of the Assault and Barron Trump’s Involvement

According to court documents, the cause of Rumyantsev’s aggression was jealousy over his girlfriend’s communication with Barron Trump, the son of U.S. President Donald Trump. During the conflict, the woman was on a FaceTime video call with Barron, who witnessed the assault in real time. Trump Jr., while in the U.S., quickly contacted emergency services in the UK, allowing the police to respond swiftly and initiate an investigation.

The Court’s Verdict and Case Circumstances

The investigation established that during the assault, Matvey Rumyantsev grabbed the woman by her hair, threw her to the floor, insulted her, and struck her. According to British media reports, the prosecution insisted that jealousy towards Barron Trump was the key motive for the crime. As a result, the court found Rumyantsev guilty on several counts related to physical violence but acquitted him of more serious charges. Barron Trump did not personally attend the court hearings; however, his call to emergency services was included in the case materials as important evidence.

Matvey Rumyantsev is a descendant of Sergey Rumyantsev, the founder of the One Price Coffee chain, which operates in the Russian Federation.
