“Kyivpastrans” is launching a double-decker city bus on route No. 57 for the first time in its history. During the test phase this weekend, residents of the capital will be able to ride the modern MAN A39 bus, which Kyiv received as a gift from its sister city, Berlin.

Technical Specifications and Features of the Bus
The double-decker bus is designed to accommodate 83 seated passengers: 28 seats on the first floor and 55 on the second. There are 45 standing spots available, but only on the first floor. The bus meets modern accessibility standards: it has a low floor, two designated spaces for wheelchair users, a spot for a stroller, and two ramps, ensuring comfortable access for all passengers.
The transport will operate every Saturday and Sunday between the “Akademmistechko” metro station and the “Chapaevka” car market stop, from 9:43 AM to 6:53 PM.

Plans for the Development of Double-Decker Transport in Kyiv
In addition to the passenger route, another MAN A39 bus is planned to be used as a tourist sightseeing vehicle, which will expand opportunities for city tours. It is worth noting that Kyiv received four double-decker buses back in 2022, but they have not been used on routes for three years.
