Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that a delegation of European Union representatives will visit Kyiv on March 31. Commemoration of the Bucha Tragedy and Support for Ukraine

The date of the visit is symbolic: it marks the anniversary of the mass killings of civilians in Bucha, carried out by Russian military forces. Participants in the meeting plan to honor the memory of the victims and reaffirm their commitment to holding those responsible accountable. Also on the agenda is the discussion of further support for Ukraine from the EU, increasing sanctions pressure on Russia, and exploring ways to achieve peace and stability on the continent.

“We will arrive determined and united in our support for Ukraine, especially at a time when we will commemorate the fourth anniversary of the horrific atrocities committed by Russia in Bucha. And with a clear message, Russia must be held accountable for its war crimes. Accountability is key to achieving a just and lasting peace,” Kallas added.

Initiative for a Special Tribunal

In addition to political support, the European Commission recently proposed that EU countries join in the establishment of a special tribunal to investigate the crime of aggression against Ukraine. Andrii Sybiha positively assessed this initiative, calling it important ahead of the anniversary of the tragic events in Bucha. He also expressed gratitude to Kaja Kallas and European diplomats for accepting the invitation to the meeting in Kyiv.

It is expected that during the visit, EU representatives will reaffirm their support for Ukraine and consider new joint steps to ensure justice and security in Europe.
