The pension certificate is a necessary document for receiving a lifelong pension in Ukraine for all citizens of retirement age. Over the past year, the Pension Fund of Ukraine has been actively implementing electronic certificates — more than 18,500 such new documents have already been created.

“Pensioners who wish to protect themselves from the risk of losing or damaging their pension certificate should consider using the electronic version. The paper document remains valid, while the electronic equivalent will always be available in the Diia app.”

Step-by-Step Guide to Obtaining an Electronic Pension Certificate

To apply for an electronic pension certificate in 2025, follow these steps:

  • Visit the Pension Fund of Ukraine portal using your electronic signature and log into your personal account.
  • In the “Regarding Pension Provision” menu, select the option “Application for the Issuance of a Pension Certificate” at the bottom.
  • In the drop-down field, choose the option “Application for the Issuance of a Pension Certificate in Electronic Form (without the issuance of a paper original or payment card, which simultaneously serves as a pension certificate).”
  • Familiarize yourself with the rules and click “Continue.”
  • Fill out the online application form.
  • Attach scanned copies of the necessary documents and click “Generate Application.”
  • Check the entered data and click “Sign and Send to the PFU.”

The status of the submitted application can be tracked in your personal account under the “My Requests” section. If approved, the electronic pension certificate will automatically appear in the Diia app.

Thus, transitioning to an electronic certificate allows pensioners to enhance the security of their documents and always have them at hand in digital format.
