Georgia Opens Market for Exporting Ukrainian Beef and Meat Products

The Georgian market has opened for the supply of Ukrainian beef, offal from cattle, and plant-based animal feed. This has resulted from the joint efforts of the relevant authorities of both countries, providing new opportunities for Ukrainian meat producers.

Expansion of Cooperation Between Ukraine and Georgia

The Head of the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, Serhiy Tkachuk, noted that negotiations are currently underway to also open the Georgian market for composite products containing poultry meat and plant components. According to him, this direction is in the final stage of approval.

“Together with the Head of the National Food Agency of Georgia, Georgiy Yakobashvili, we discussed further expanding access for Ukrainian goods to the Georgian market. This year, our joint efforts have already yielded concrete results: export markets for meat, raw materials, and offal from cattle have been opened for Ukrainian producers, as well as plant-based animal feed”

Growth of Ukrainian Beef Exports

In March 2026, Ukrainian exporters shipped 467.2 tons of fresh or chilled beef to foreign markets, generating revenue of 3.69 million USD. In the first quarter of 2026, fresh beef exports amounted to 991 tons, bringing Ukraine 7.61 million USD. Compared to the same period last year, fresh beef exports increased nearly 23 times.

Regarding frozen beef, in March 2026, Ukraine exported 1.67 thousand tons, which provided revenue of nearly 7.37 million USD. From January to March this year, export volumes totaled 3.91 thousand tons, which is 8% less than a year ago, but revenue increased by 13% to reach 17.8 million USD.
