Return of Ukrainian children from occupation

According to the regional leader, among those rescued are two boys and two girls aged between 6 and 17 years. All of them are now safe and receiving the necessary psychological and medical support.

“Fortunately, our children are now safe and receiving the necessary assistance,” said the head of Kherson.

The operation to return the children took place as part of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative with the support of the organization “Save Ukraine.” Thanks to these efforts, Ukrainian defenders are able to rescue minors who are illegally held by Russia in occupied territories or deported to its territory.

Scale of illegal deportation of children

According to Ukrainian authorities, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, over 20,000 Ukrainian children have been illegally deported or forcibly relocated to Russia or to temporarily occupied territories. The European Union emphasizes that Russia systematically conceals the whereabouts of these children and attempts to destroy their national identity.

As of May 11, according to information from the President’s Office, more than 2,133 children abducted by the Russian Federation have been returned to Ukraine as part of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative.
