FIFA launches new blockchain based on Avalanche for NFT platform

This move aims to ensure seamless connectivity with EVM-compatible technologies and promote further development of digital solutions in football.

Transition to a new ecosystem

The launch of the new FIFA blockchain will take place on the Avalanche architecture, providing the football organization with the opportunity to optimize its digital strategy. This includes not only the NFT platform but also other services related to ticketing and collectible merchandise.

The future of the partnership

A representative from Avalanche stated:

“FIFA is not just exploring Web3. It is breaking new ground. By utilizing a customized Layer 1 network based on the Avalanche stack, it aims to unify its digital strategy in the realm of collectibles, ticket sales, and more”

. The project team also emphasized that this is just the beginning, and new business cases are planned for the future.

The head of Modex projects and FIFA Collect, Francesco Abbate, noted that the new partnership will serve as a foundation for future growth and will ensure integration with EVM-compatible solutions.

We remind you that at the end of December 2024, the Avalanche ecosystem implemented the Avalanche9000 update, which simplified the launch of L1 networks. FIFA plans to complete the migration while preserving all functions of its NFT platform, previously deployed on the Algorand base.
