Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal has instructed all services involved in ensuring energy supply to expedite repair work in light of the expected sharp drop in temperatures next week.

Damage to Energy Facilities and Difficult Electricity Supply Situation
As Shmyhal emphasized, on February 13, there was intensive restoration of energy facilities following a large-scale nighttime missile attack. The energy infrastructure in Kyiv, Odesa, and Dnipropetrovsk regions was significantly affected. As a result, the electricity supply situation remains tense: in most regions, electricity is available for 3-4 hours after 7-8 hours of outage, and in the most challenging cases, only for 2-3 hours.
“In the last 24 hours, over 13 tons of energy equipment have been unloaded from the Ministry of Energy’s hubs, which arrived from international partners. This includes generators, power transformers, hydraulic units, and switches.”
Scale of Assistance and Restoration Work
In recent weeks, over 714 tons of various equipment have been delivered to the warehouses of the Ministry of Energy’s hubs to support the stable operation of the energy system. In particular, in the last 24 hours, more than 13 tons of generators, transformers, hydraulic units, and switches have been sent, which arrived from international partners.
The authorities emphasize that all responsible structures must operate in an enhanced mode to ensure the quickest possible restoration of energy supply in the regions affected by shelling and to prepare the system for potential peak loads during severe cold spells.
