Potential of Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies in the Fintech Sector
According to analytics, the cryptocurrency and blockchain segments are recognized as some of the most promising for the development of Ukrainian fintech — this is the opinion of 47% of the surveyed companies. However, currently, only 3% of fintech companies operate in these areas, and only 9% of respondents are directly implementing blockchain technologies. At the same time, 40% of respondents indicated blockchain as a technology with significant potential for the industry, indicating substantial opportunities for future growth.
The catalog contains not only survey data but also analytical information from open sources — the National Bank of Ukraine, the World Bank, the State Statistics Service, and the Ministry of Finance. The publication also highlights government initiatives, including the launch of a regulatory sandbox for testing startups in the fields of artificial intelligence and blockchain. Such steps contribute to the development of an innovative environment and the integration of cutting-edge technologies in the Ukrainian market.

Rapid Development of Artificial Intelligence and Innovative Trends
Experts have identified artificial intelligence as one of the most powerful drivers of the fintech market — 90% of respondents highlighted it as the most promising technology. The application of AI in work processes has increased by 14% over the year: this year, 43% of companies are actively implementing these solutions, compared to 29% last year. The document emphasizes:
“Artificial intelligence is rapidly penetrating work processes, with 43% of companies reporting the use of this technology, compared to 29% last year,” the document states.
In addition to AI, among the promising areas of development, Ukrainian specialists have identified payment solutions and digital wallets, open banking, and API solutions. Other popular innovative technologies include chatbots, cloud services, biometric identification, and robotic process automation. Services such as SWIFT, the Internet of Things, DeFi, NFT, and blockchain remain less widespread.
Government policy supports the development of innovations — the Ministry of Digital Transformation has identified the development of AI as a strategic priority. As noted by the Chief AI Officer of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Danilo Tsivok, the goal is to enter the top three global leaders in implementing AI in the public sector by 2030 and to ensure the integration of intelligent solutions in all key areas: public administration, defense, healthcare, and education.
It is known that two large-scale projects are currently being developed, which will serve as the foundation for the development of AI in Ukraine: the creation of a national large language model and the formation of a strategy for the development of artificial intelligence by 2030.
