The Federal Republic of Germany has announced the allocation of 60 million euros to support the Ukrainian energy sector during the winter period. This was reported by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, on his official X account.

German investments will be directed towards strengthening centralized heating systems and thermal networks across the country. Priority will be given to populated areas located near the front lines, where energy infrastructure is suffering the most destruction due to Russian shelling.

“This financial support will ensure warmth and safety for our citizens by modernizing heating systems. We are grateful for the unwavering solidarity of the German people,” commented the head of the foreign affairs agency.

In light of systematic strikes on critical infrastructure, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the Ministry of Energy, is initiating the convening of a specialized energy format similar to “Ramstein.” President Volodymyr Zelensky expects prompt deliveries of necessary equipment from partners.

The Czech Republic has already confirmed its readiness to join the energy support for Ukraine. Additionally, the Ukrainian leader announced the introduction of a state of emergency in the energy sector and the establishment of a permanent coordination headquarters in the capital.

German assistance is arriving at a critical moment for the Ukrainian energy system. Following massive attacks by the Russian Federation, millions of Ukrainians are facing prolonged power outages and a lack of centralized heating during the coldest period of the year.

International support is becoming vital to meet the basic needs of the population and to maintain the functionality of critical infrastructure amid ongoing military actions.
