Agricultural Production in Ukraine Decreased by 3.1% in 2025

In 2025, the volume of agricultural production in Ukraine decreased by 3.1% compared to the previous year. According to the State Statistics Service, the agricultural production index across all categories of farms was 96.9% of the level in 2024.

Details of Changes in Crop and Livestock Production

Crop production in 2025 decreased by 3%, while livestock production fell by 3.9%. In enterprises, the total agricultural production dropped by 1.8%. At the same time, this sector saw a growth in livestock production by 0.6%, while crop production showed a decline of 2.3%.

In household farms, the decline was more pronounced — volumes decreased by 6.4%. Specifically, crop production fell by 4.8%, and livestock production decreased by 10.5%.

Regional Dynamics of Production

The most significant growth in agricultural production in 2025 was recorded in Chernihiv Oblast — at 11.1%. Positive dynamics were also shown by Vinnytsia Oblast (+5.3%), Sumy (+1.9%), and Rivne (+0.8%) Oblasts.

At the same time, the most significant reduction in production volumes compared to 2024 was observed in Donetsk Oblast — by 44.8%. A significant drop was also recorded in Kherson (-31.1%), Mykolaiv (-19.4%), and Dnipropetrovsk (-19%) Oblasts.

“In the first four months of 2026, the volume of agricultural production in Ukrainian enterprises increased by 10.5% compared to the same period last year, while the overall growth in the sector was 1.7%.”
