Ukrzaliznytsia has announced the launch of a new temporary train No. 243/244, which will connect Kyiv and Lviv — one of the most popular tourist destinations in Ukraine. The additional train will operate only on specified days in August, and tickets are already available for sale.
This is reported by Finway
Schedule and Route Details
The new train will depart from Kyiv at 06:35 and from Lviv at 15:48. There are four scheduled travel dates: August 21, 22, 23, and 31. This will help meet the increased demand for rail transport during peak periods associated with holidays, vacations, and breaks.
The train will consist of regular sleeping cars with seating available, ensuring comfort and sufficient seating for all those wishing to travel between the capital and Lviv.
Ticket Prices and Purchase Methods
Ticket prices for train No. 243/244 start at 716.72 UAH in first-class carriages for the trip on August 21 from Kyiv. Ticket sales have already begun — they can be purchased through the official Ukrzaliznytsia app, on the company’s website, or directly at the train station ticket offices.
“We are adding seats between Kyiv and Lviv by reducing the idle time of carriages that have arrived from their main route. We are assigning the additional train No. 243/244 Kyiv – Lviv,” the statement reads.
Temporary trains, as explained by the company, are primarily launched when existing services cannot cope with the increasing passenger flow during certain times of the year. This is most often related to holiday dates, summer vacations, or mass breaks.
