Ukrainian Contribution to the Polish Economy: Statistics and Areas of Impact
In 2024, according to estimates from the embassy, the contribution of Ukrainian citizens to Poland’s gross domestic product reached 2.7%. This is equivalent to approximately 30 billion dollars. This figure encompasses the business activity of Ukrainian entrepreneurs, the work of hired employees, as well as the integration of Polish specialists into joint projects with Ukrainian businesses.
Moreover, the ratio of the aid that Poland provides to Ukraine and the contribution of Ukrainians to the Polish economy is approximately 1:5. This means that the economic return from the presence of Ukrainians in the Polish labor market and entrepreneurial environment significantly exceeds the volume of support provided.
The Role of Ukrainians in the Development of Polish Business
In recent years, Ukrainians have become an integral part of the Polish labor market and have actively engaged in entrepreneurial activities. The number of companies opened by Ukrainian citizens is increasing, and their stable participation in strategically important sectors for Poland contributes to strengthening the country’s economic dynamics.
“He said that these figures demonstrate the mutual benefit of intergovernmental cooperation and debunk common stereotypes about migration burdens. On the contrary, Ukrainians have significantly enhanced Poland’s economic potential.”
Thus, the economic integration of Ukrainians in Poland not only contributes to improving the living standards of the migrants themselves but also provides a tangible contribution to the welfare of the neighboring country.
