On the night of May 7, a large-scale attack by Ukrainian drones occurred on the territory of Russia, particularly in the Moscow region. Situation in the Moscow Region and Emergency Services Operations

The Mayor of Moscow, Sergey Sobyanin, reported the downing of several drones heading towards the capital. He clarified:

“Specialists from emergency services are working at the crash sites.”

In the morning, residents of Naro-Fominsk reported explosions that were heard in the Moscow region. According to the Ukrainian channel Exilenova+, the military logistics complex “Nara” in Naro-Fominsk, which is used for storing and distributing military cargo for the Russian Ministry of Defense, was attacked. There are currently no official confirmations of damage to the facility from the Russian authorities.

Consequences of the Attacks in the Regions and Government Response

In Cheboksary, schools have been switched to remote learning mode due to the threat of new attacks. The city’s mayor, Stanislav Trofimov, explained this by the increased danger of missile and drone strikes.

The Governor of Bryansk Region, Alexander Bogomaz, stated that 121 Ukrainian drones were shot down over the region. According to him, during the night, as a result of the attack on residential areas and peaceful residents, 13 people were injured, including one child.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion by Russia, facilities on its territory have regularly been subjected to air attacks. The most targeted in 2024 and 2025 were oil refineries and military infrastructure in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has repeatedly emphasized that such operations are aimed at reducing the combat potential of the Russian occupation forces and forcing the Russian Federation to cease its aggression against Ukraine.
