Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Moldovan Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu held talks on deepening cooperation between the two countries in the fields of energy and infrastructure. The parties outlined common goals on the path to integration into the European Union, emphasizing the importance of coordinating efforts to strengthen the region.

“We have a shared vision for the future in the EU, and the path of Ukraine and Moldova to the EU must be a joint one, so that everyone in our region benefits from the strengthening of our peoples and Europe as a whole,” Zelensky emphasized.
Energy Cooperation and Technical Support
Ukraine is interested in expanding partnerships between the national energy system operators – “Ukrenergo” and “Moldelectric.” During the meeting, the leaders discussed the prospects for building new power lines and interconnectors, which will enhance the energy security and efficiency of both countries. Additionally, Moldova provided Ukraine with a support package worth €700,000, which includes generators, transformers, modern medical equipment, and vehicles.
Development of Transport Infrastructure and New Border Crossing
Particular attention was paid to the development of transport and border infrastructure. Joint efforts in this area will facilitate the optimization of border crossing procedures, improving conditions for trade and transit. Ukraine and Moldova have already reached an agreement to open a new border crossing at their shared border, which will create additional opportunities for freight transport and strengthen economic cooperation.
