The exchange rate of the dollar and euro in Ukraine has risen to record levels by the end of December

The National Bank of Ukraine has adjusted the official exchange rate of the dollar to the hryvnia, increasing it by 17 kopecks. As of December 31, the official rate of the American currency is set at 42.38 UAH per dollar, according to updated data from the NBU.

The euro also showed an increase — by 20 kopecks — reaching a level of 49.85 UAH. The Polish zloty is officially valued at 11.79 UAH per unit. Thus, the main foreign currencies are ending December with increased rates, which may affect the prices of imported goods and future economic forecasts at the beginning of 2025.

Exchange rates in banks and exchange offices

In Ukrainian exchange offices, the selling rate of the dollar fluctuates around 42 UAH, while the buying rate is at 42.15 UAH. A similar situation is observed with the euro: buying occurs at 49.5 UAH, while selling is at 49.85 UAH. This indicates a heightened demand for foreign currency at the end of the year.

The official rate as of December 31 is set at 42.38 UAH per 1 dollar, according to data on the NBU website.

Financial experts advise closely monitoring updates in the currency market, as rising rates may impact the financial plans of citizens and businesses at the beginning of the new year.
